Coaches Report – Rnd 6 – Norths Devils 20/04/2009
With the win count reaching four, (a club record) the North’s boys turned up and gave us a run for the two points. North’s came out as expected and put early points on us through some very good football. This Norths outfit was a much improved team from last year with them hanging in until the bell.
How about our crowd! It was one of the best things about the game this week with ooohing and ahhing something that we love to hear. In the coming weeks listen out for the new Comets song being played. With the introduction of our new thunder sticks for the kids seeing the orange and purple colours rise from the crowd looks awesome.
Last week saw the Comets with our first injuries that held Aaron Summers (concussion) and Casey Lillyman (fractured thumb) out of the usual line up. This opened space’s for players to show there wares and that they did with 38 points scored and the only let down was the 30 scored against. With our new signing Jade Williams making an immediate impact with two tries and a solid game in defence I think he my have found a home for a while.
This week is the TV game live on ABC Sunday 2pm, one game that we are really gunning for and wanting to win to continue the streak.
