Coaches Report – Rnd 10 – Northern Pride 18/05/2009
WOW… What a game of footy. For the fans, it had everything from fast action to big hits. From a coaches point of view it was a hard fought win for the Comets boys with every player putting in a tremendous effort. Speaking to the Pride coach post match he said that was one of the best games of footy he’s seen this year and I have to agree to some point.
As seen on Saturday night the Comets attacking flair and the ability to score tries across the park is in stark contrast to years gone by. At the moment we have 13-14 players firing every week, but yet the eighty minute game is still an elusive target. What this means to us as a team is that we don’t have to rely on that magical one play from one player, each person with there attributes they bring makes it a defencesive nightmare for other teams.
We have a deal with one of the local pubs now for our players awards (The Brunswick) Poor Cliffy! Each week we win Cliffy supplies one meal and the next week it keeps adding on, so now this week we have 8 players eating out on Cliffy.
Road trip this week to play an inform Burleigh Bears which has always been a hard task. The Pizzey Park faithfuls might have something hard to swallow this week.
