Coachs Report – Rnd 13 – Wynnum 09/06/2009

With round, thirteen complete and the home stretch in front of us we are now coming off the second lost in as many weeks.

We spoke about the mental attitude of players being able to compete week in week out when teams are wanting to knock off the top side. This is all new territory for the Comets club and players and with this in mind we will hit the field this week and refresh with Larry, which means a hard fitness week. From Thursday, (after the Gladstone training session) until Tuesday, the boys can have a break then re-gather for the TV match against Tweed Heads.

Wynnum came to Rocky with a plan and they implemented with great success.  Any other week a few of the balls dropped, knocked on forward passed, one of these things would have stuck but not this week. Wynnum defended as if they were in finals mode with all scrambling and making tackles that really counted or just snuffed out our attack, speaking of our attack it was a quite night had by a team I feel is one of the better attacking teams.

All looking forward to the Tweed encounter and to get back in the winning circle.
