Winger Williams out for eight weeks 05/05/2010

THE Rockhampton Leagues Club Comets are set to miss star winger Dallas Williams for up to eight weeks.

The 2009 Comets’ Best Back will be out after a scan on Friday revealed he had torn a muscle in his right shoulder.

The Comets will miss winger Dallas Williams' inspiring charges into the defensive line.

Williams suffered the injury in the second half of the match against the Redcliffe Dolphins in round 4 of the Intrust Super Cup.

The 27-year-old is disappointed he can not be on the field helping his side out during a tough period at the club but is hopeful of returning from injury sooner than expected.

“It might be wishful thinking but I want to be back for the round 11 match against Ipswich later this month,” said Williams.

“In order to do that I’ve got to do the right thing and look after it.”

After an impressive display during the regional trials on the weekend, Yeppoon five-eighth Nathan Barraclough has been named in the starting side for the Comets match against Wynnum-Manly Seagulls this weekend.

In other changes Chris Beasley returns from injury while Guy Ford has been included in the side after missing two matches due to suspension.
